The London 50th Anniversary Meeting June 20th 2009 A note & pictures from Nick Hackney
It started with a special MSG preview of the lots in the Spink Singapore July 4th Auction. This was very kindly arranged by Nick Startup for Spink in Bloomsbury. Members were able to feast their eyes on the lots, without the slightly long journey to Singapore. The cover of the catalogue is illustrated below.
The afternoon was filled with a stunning series of Members Displays. There will be a full account of these in the Newsletter. The entire afternoon was a unbroken series of highlights. The event was organised by Andrew Norris, who arranged the displays, the venue, and gave a display as well.

Ted Proud, Interstate use of Malayan Stamps, & the provisional Stationery issues 1940-42
Iain Dyce, entires & cover from 1812 onwards from Penang
Malcolm Wade, BMA recalling his 2000 International display Gaden Robinson - Favourites, Bangkok to chops such as Rainbow Malacca & SS Bentong

Andrew's display covered topics which he says will not be in the display at the Royal. These included a Raffles letter, French, German & Dutch Maritime Mail, items from the Cocos & Christmas Islands, NL Agents , his Siamese collection, Meter stamps and Cinderellas and others.
